Starting with iOS 17, you can use your Apple Maps offline. Download them to your iPhone before you leave, and you’ll always find your destination. Even when you don’t have mobile coverage or WiFi connection around you.

Although your iPhone is designed to give its best with a WiFi or cellular data connection, it is inevitable to find yourself in places or places where poor or no coverage prevents you from accessing the internet. Luckily, at times like this, it is still possible to make use of your Apple phone. Especially in applications as practical as Apple Maps, which can be consulted offline.

The option to use Apple Maps offline has been a long time coming, but since iOS 17, it is possible to “save a map of an area and use it when the iPhone is offline.” As Apple itself explains in its documentation. And remember that you can also download your maps on Google Maps.
